The more I hear about solar energy, the more excited I get. I’m an active senior and I remember a time when the Ice Man brought ice into my grandmother’s home with a leather apron and a big Ice hook. He had a horse and cart outside that would carry his constantly melting product. I remember Ice Boxes and Hitching Posts. I have to admit that I am from Kansas and we were always a little behind the times but, I still remember that time. My other grandmother lived in a small Kansas town that had everyone on the same telephone extention. When the telephone would ring with two short bells and one long bell that was her number. She almost always had to ask the operator to get off line and give her some privacy. My, how things have changed.
60 years later I am reading as much as I can about this interesting energy source called Solar energy. Solar Panels can charge our cell phones and our laptop computers. We can bring light to a building that has no electricity. When the p0wer is out we can still make a good cup of coffee. We have all the comforts of home while on the open water. It’s amazing! I am so thankful that I was born in this era.
